A fashion manufacturer from the Netherlands, who has been selling their wares since 1963. The brand started out with children’s wear and was the first to ever place the child at the center of its creative process. The success of it’s children’s wear collection sparked the launch of their first women’s wear collection. Since that moment, they have been a hallmark of creativity in both womens’ and children’s wardrobes. The project was developed through an agency which was cooperating with the final client.

Everyday management on the Woo Commerce – tough and not efficient. No e-mail marketing tools

The client had launched their e-commerce store some time ago, basing it on a WooCommerce platform. However, because the brand is recognized all over the world, day-to-day management on WooCommerce was difficult and inefficient. Additionally, the client wanted to have their store connected with their warehouse and email marketing system. Product management was also problematic, which is why the client decided to migrate their shop to a platform dedicated to online sales. The e-commerce department decided to invest in a Magento platform – which is the place where we came in, along with our partner from the Netherlands.

We started by creating a list of features they wanted to migrate, which were mandatory for the client’s business. It was very important to not waste time on migrating functionalities from the shop which didn’t affect sales or customer experience. Because the shop based on WooCommerce was redesigned not long before, we decided to migrate the unchanged layout to Magento. Thanks to that, we didn’t need to create functional mockups or design graphics. The previous layout already had a good customer experience and checkout process. However, we replaced the final checkout process with a Magento one, matching its style with the rest of the shop.

New functionalities on the platform.

During the project, an idea came up to create separate homepages for their target clients, with the ability to manage content by themselves. This was the moment when the idea of creating a dedicated module with dedicated functionalities came about. We established a process of creating homepage landings for the target groups (women, children)
each with sections. The platform had the ability to create homepages with sectional chunks. The client had three separate store views and over six section types to select while creating new content. This included the ability to specify which homepages they would be displayed on, in what order, and what language. The section types were divided by their looks and what content was represented. Updating homepages with a creative look had never been so easy.

The client has dozens of orders every day, and hundreds each month, coming in from all over the world. Their shop is connected to their warehouse, email marketing tools, tracking analytics tools and everything else that a modern e-commerce shop needs to sell effectively.
